Career Management & Life Planning

Where am I now and where am I going? We are all headed on a journey somewhere in life. It is helpful every so often to pull out a map and see just where we are, where we are headed, and if the direction we are going will get us there. This mini-workshop will help you identify your personal goals and values for career and life, and identify any readjustments you need to make in your current path to meet those goals.
Managing Life's Transitions
Transitions - life is full of them, large and small: starting kindergarten, graduating from high school, starting a new job, getting married, having a child, getting divorced, being promoted, transferring to a new location, moving, losing your job, having your children leave home, having a co-worker leave work, and the death of a friend or relative. Some transitions we choose, others are thrust on us, but in either case, transition periods can be stressful times in our lives. This talk will look at the common thread occurring in all transitions, and talk about ways to approach transitions that can make them easier to manage.
Stress Management

Buried under an avalanche of paperwork and job expectations? Feeling the press of deadlines and demands can generate high levels of stress and accelerate job burnout. This workshop will help participants identify sources and symptoms of stress, teach techniques for managing stress, and assist individuals to create a personal plan to manage the stress in their lives.
Managing Conflict at Work
Conflict! Some people thrive on it, others dread it. But, like it or not, conflict is an inevitable part of the workplace. This workshop covers tips and skills important for effectively dealing with conflict in the workplace.
Dealing with Difficult People

We all run into people at work who are challenging for us to deal with. This workshop will talk about the different ways people can be difficult, and will teach tips and skills important in dealing with conflict in the workplace.
Enhancing Intimate Relationships
This workshop will identify common problems between couples that may lead to a relationship breakup and will introduce skills that help improve communication and understanding within relationships.
Work/Family Balance

An appropriate work/family balance is essential for an individual's health and the well-being of their family. Our society tends to encourage individuals to spend excessive amounts of time and energy at work, to the detriment of the individual, the family, and in the long run, the work place. This workshop will identify risks associated with unhealthy work/family balance, and help the participant set personal goals for their own work/family balance, as well as an action plan for meeting those goals.
Communicating with Your Children
"My kids never listen to me!" "My kids never talk to me. I don't know what is going on in their lives." Communicating effectively with your children can be very difficult. This workshop, based on the book "
How to Talk so Kids will Listen and Listen so Kids will Talk," by Adele Farber and Elaine Mazlish will teach skills to help smooth the communication path between parents and children of all ages.
Surviving Your Child's Adolescence

Some parents find that their previously lovable child gets lost as he/she enters adolescence. This seminar looks at common problems parents encounter with adolescence, and at ways of improving relationships between the parents and adolescent.
Relationships with Aging Parents
As our parents age, we are faced not only with practical issues related to their changing needs, but also with a myriad of emotional issues related to their aging. While there are many resources to help us become better parents, individuals seem to be expected to figure out how to deal with aging parents on their own. This workshop will look at psychological issues related to aging, and to emotional issues faced by adult children of aging parents.
Roadblocks to Positive Thinking

This talk discusses ways in which we often unintentionally sabotage ourselves and our well-being through destructive thought patterns and self-talk. It will give tips for achieving greater satisfaction in life through incorporating more healthy ways of thinking and relating to yourself.
Assertiveness
This seminar looks at differences between assertive, non-assertive, and aggressive behavior, identifies some of the factors that keep us from being assertive, and gives techniques for being more assertive.
